Orientation days

You arrive in Kathmandu, a foreign country, and then what ?! We offer you an orientation when you arrive where you will learn more about the wonderful characteristics of Nepal and how you can get the most out of your volunteering and free days.

Day 1

We will explain more about the organization, what our rules are, how we work and what areas we work together with. You get a brief introduction about your volunteer work and what you can do and what is expected. After this explanation, there will be a typical Nepalese lunch, daal bhat. Rice with lentils and delicious curries! After lunch you will start with your Nepali language class, it is important to learn some basic words and phrases in order to make yourself understandable. After the language class, it’s time for some sightseeing and we go to the famous monkey temple.

Day 2

You start with breakfast and then you will learn about the customs, rituals, history and the caste system of Nepal. After a typical Nepalese lunch you will continue your language class to learn more Nepali. We end the day with strolling around the tourist area of Thamel where all the nice little shops are spicy market and have some Nepali tea at our local tea shop.

Included: breakfast – lunch – introduction – language course – sightseeing transportation.
Entrance fees for the sightseeing are not included.
